Teen Pregnancy Prevention Speaker
“If I had heard this message as a teen, about the true meaning of sex and its deeper emotional impact, saying ‘no’ would have been easy,” says Brenda Teele. “The message of Breaking the Cycle gives teens a bigger ‘YES.’”
Brenda speaks with a passion for making a generational impact on teen pregnancy. Research shows that children of teen parents often become teen parents themselves. With Breaking the Cycle, Brenda Teele hopes to put an end to that pattern of early sexual activity by providing parent education and personal experience that will show how these early choices impact a person’s future.
Her highly energetic and interactive program teaches teen parents how to approach the topic of sex with their children, and teach them about the importance of sexual integrity.
“As they learn how to teach their children about the true purpose of sex, they will actively discover new strength and begin to break the cycle to impact generations to come.”
She hopes each teen parent who attends the program will go through a process of self-evaluation. She wants them to think about the messages that they received from their family and peers, and then to actively decide which messages they will pass on to their own children.
Brenda also warns about the dangers of ‘toxic’ relationships. Teens should be able to identify which thoughts and relationships protects them and which ones prey on them.
“Breaking the Cycle is my own journey,” she says. “I am open with who I am and the choices I’ve made. I want teens to know they’re not alone and that I understand because I’ve been there too. I want to help them see a brighter future and not continue down a path that was never intended for them.”
Book a Breaking the Cycle program to help support teen moms and dads in your school. Brenda encourages teen parents to stay in school, equipping them to be the best parents they can be.
Reviews of Brenda Teele's Programs
“After listening to this program, I think it’s going to be easier to talk to my children about sex.”
“The program taught me to answer questions honestly, and don’t answer more than the question that was asked.”
“I learned that the number of sexual partners directly reflects your level of self-confidence.”
“They shared a message that is vital to the kids we serve. The students I visited with after the program yesterday were excited about what they heard and felt like Brenda really connected with them. I truly feel that Brenda gave my students some tools that they can and will put into practice which will help them become better parents and better people. My students want to succeed and I am so happy to have been able to get this information into their hands!”
